Why Attend?

The purpose of the course is to examine sophisticated issues that practicing lawyers actually face. Each topic has a lecturer/discussion leader who is responsible for covering the most important aspects of the subject matter and for presenting and discussing the issues and alternative approaches. Registrants are encouraged to participate actively in the discussion of the problems. Because of the limited enrollment and the degree of expertise of the registrants, the format offers an exciting educational experience. It gives registrants an opportunity to trade and discuss ideas with their peers, under the supervision and guidance of highly skilled faculty members.

What You Will Learn

This course deals with the most sophisticated problems and considerations in planning large estates. In order to attain this objective, on-site enrollment is limited to 60 registrants.

The topics selected represent the most difficult challenges in the planning of large estates. The discussions are conducted on a transactional basis, with emphasis on changing factual patterns rather than on bare principles of law or statutory provisions. Registrants should come prepared to enter into active discussion with their peers and with the discussion leaders.

Here's what registrants have said about this course:
"This is a very good course and serves as a good reminder (in some cases) and a good lesson (in other cases) on the general state of the law and traps for the unwary." -- April 2008 registrant
"This conference is, by far, the best advanced estate planning course I have attended. The fact that there is no drafting makes it entirely relevant for non-attorneys (CPAs and CFPs) as well as attorneys looking to enhance their technical expertise." -- Grace B. Ghezzi, Benefit Consulting Group, Inc., Syracuse, NY (April 2008 registrant)
"Excellent program! The speakers and materials were informative, practical and topical." -- Dominic Ciarimboli, Greensburg, PA (Nov. 2007 registrant)
"I will be back next year. After attending very large conferences, this is like heaven on earth." -- Kevin L. Von Tungeln, Thompson Von Tungeln, Lancaster, CA (Nov. 2007 registrant)
"Please do not change the informal nature of the course. The presenters’ interaction with the participants often produced more light than heat. It is this interaction that makes this the best course I’ve attended." -- April 2007 registrant
"This is a great course – good level of detail and sophistication in most presentations. Great materials!" "An outstanding conference in every respect!!"
"This was a very well organized course. All of the speakers were excellent. The materials are an excellent take-away; they will provide a good reference for me in my work. I hope to return in future years."
"The informal panel discussions were very valuable in gaining insight into the thoughts of the presenters. This was a great program, and I am glad that I attended."
